Merissa is a passionate entrepreneur and co-founder of Tree Island Yogurt based in Cumberland, BC. Together with her husband, Scott DiGuistini PhD, Merissa started Tree Island in 2013 at the Comox Valley Farmers Market. Since then their manufacturing business has grown into a 33,000 sq ft CFIA License dairy facility with distribution to serve grocers across Canada.

Merissa has a passion for land stewardship and brings her unique background in community economic development to the food industry. She likes strategy and spreadsheets and loves working with stakeholders from chefs, farmers and staff to retailers.
